Alrighty, Golden Chopsticks. This place has a very nice, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff are friendly and answer any questions that may be asked. The food is very delicious; they have multiple options. They even have fruit. I rarely see fruit at a buffet—well, the ones I've gone to at least. I had about four plates, the first three being just some food I thought I would try out, and the last plate was the finisher: freshly cut fruit that tasted amazing. This is by far my new favorite spot in Rockford, IL, for sure. I would recommend anyone in the Rockford area to come try this place out.

Everything was hot, fresh, and constantly replenished. What really impressed me was the quality. Often at buffets, you expect quantity over quality, but here they really deliver on both. The fried rice was flavorful, the dumplings were juicy, and the stir-fried vegetables were perfectly cooked. Even the dessert bar had a nice mix of traditional and Western-style sweets. The staff were friendly and attentive, always quick to clear empty plates and check if we needed anything. The dining area was clean, spacious, and welcoming — perfect for families, friends, or even a casual date night. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great value and authentic flavors. Amazing food, fresh and hot. Quick to replace empty trays/plate. A lot of variety, and they have beer! Will definitely be coming back. Could be cheaper but the economy is garbage so everything else could be cheaper too. Also they have beer! 10/10 would recommend.
Golden chopsticks has a great hibachi grill selection. A variety of different types of sushi. And they serve beer... They've been consistent every time. If you like Chinese food.. It's a win with all you can eat!

This is the best Chinese buffet I've been to since I moved to Rockford from Chicago. The food was delicious and tasted more fresh than most buffets. Very affordable for a family of 4. Especially with growing children that have what seems like bottomless pits for stomachs. The staff was friendly with the exclusion of one worker who was putting out food that caught an attitude with me while I was trying to get a plate for my son. Never had anyone yell at me for not getting out their way within seconds of asking. That was the only downside of the experience of eating here. Even with that one rude worker I still give this restaurant 5 stars.
The buffet was very good. Lots of selection. We were served right away but staff didn't really check drinks. Were great qt clearing the tables. Sushi was very nice with big selection. The buffet was crowded but the made sure it was full.
Wide selection of delicious foods, all hot and fresh! Looking at other reviews, I think it's best to come when they're busy to ensure the food is fresh. Loved the sushi selection. Unlabelled food might be risky for those with dietary requirements, but I found it a fun roulette of finding new foods to enjoy. Servers were all lovely, plates taken and drinks refilled in good time considering how busy it was. Absolutely recommend, I'll be back. :)
